Traditional PREMIUM matcha - drink of the samurai
Matcha powder originates in Japan, where it has been popular for millennia. It is a special type of tea used in tea ceremonies. It is prepared in the traditional way and is only drunk on special occasions. It was already popular with the samurai, who drank it before fights to get the necessary energy.
The production of matcha powder is time consuming and complex. Special treatment begins even before the tea leaves are picked. Tea shrubs are covered with tarpaulin to protect them from direct sunlight. This slows down their growth and means that the leaves also retain a lot of chlorophyll. Once the leaves are picked, they are steamed and dried. Matcha is then used to make tea or to added to other foods and desserts.
When using matcha for tea, keep in mind that it is not in the usual form, but that the tea leaves are ground to a green powder. It has a distinctive nutty taste with a slight bitterness. It is darker in color and has a stronger aroma. Due to its high chlorophyll content, matcha tea is vibrant greenin color.
Matcha latte - your morning ritual instead of coffee
Matcha latte will not only wake you up, it will also improve your focus. The taste is unusual, slightly bitter and nutty, but turns into a delicious green drink when combined with warm milk.
