The truth about omega 3 fatty acids…
Omega 3 essential fatty acids are those important fats that we must not be afraid of, as the human body urgently needs them for its proper functioning.

These fatty acids cannot be produced by our own bodies and must be obtained from dietary sources. Of particular importance are eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHK), which are often not sufficiently ingested with food.
Omega 3 fatty acids are building blocks of cell membranes, which also affect blood clotting, brain and nervous system, and are also involved in anti-inflammatory processes in the body.

Therefore, not all fats should be lumped together, as…
… avoiding omega 3 fats can have serious health consequences. Many people indeed suffer from omega 3 fatty acids deficiency.
According to various studies (found in publications such as Progress in lipid research and Clinical Nutrition), only 2 % of the population is believed to consume enough omega 3 fatty acids, which is alarmingly little.

What consequences are there?
Today, the most common diseases are those that fall into the spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. These, in turn, are closely linked to a disrupted balance of fatty acids in the body.
Many people consume too many harmful fatty acids and far too little omega 3 fatty acids.

High blood pressure, arrhythmias, clot formation, clogging of blood vessels, heart failure…
All of these are detrimental conditions that pester us all too often. Already one of the first studies conducted in 1989 showed that people who increased their intake of omega 3 fatty acids saw a great improvement in such hazardous conditions, and subsequent studies only confirmed this.

But what are some other signs of a lack of omega 3 fatty acids?
Signs that a person is suffering from these essential fatty acids deficiency can also include dry skin with scaly areas, dandruff, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, dry eyes and vision problems, arthritis and other joint problems and inflammation.

Even irritability, depression, and poor memory can be a reflection of a deficiency, as omega 3 fatty acids are an important building block of the brain.

That omega 3 fats are important for our brains is also evidenced by a study called Omega 3 fatty acids and dementia conducted by professors in the Department of Medicine and Neurology at the University of California. The study shows that consuming a sufficient amount of omega 3 in test subjects has proven to be effective in preventing age-related cognitive diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, etc.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) also states that:

  • EPK and DHK play a role in heart function,
  • DHK plays a role in brain function,
  • DHK has a role in maintaining vision.

* The beneficial effect is achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHK and EPA.

A healthy and balanced diet is definitely the first on the podium when it comes to omega 3…
But truth be told, is there really 100 grams of mackerel or 200 grams of wild salmon on your plate every day, as much as you should eat? Perhaps one day a week indeed, but very few people really succeed in achieving this per diem …
Therefore, people have long come up with the idea to consume omega 3 in the form of dietary supplements.

Remember the times when kids were given spoonfuls of fish oil?
If you are from the younger generation, you probably do not have this experience, but the older generation remembers very well how they were spoonfed fish oil for better memory and brain development, and the nasty aftertaste it had left in their mouths.
Indeed, that is something you don't easily forget…

Even today, most food supplements on the market are made on the basis of fish oil, which is not necessarily the best solution…
The source of raw materials for omega 3 fatty acids EPK and DHK are most often different fish. These are the already mentioned salmon and mackerel as well as tuna, sardines… Sometimes we also find krill oil on the market.

Why can fish supplements present a problem?
Unfortunately, the use of fish to make dietary supplements with omega 3 fatty acids is often problematic, as the fish may possibly come from areas contaminated with heavy metals or are not farmed or caught sustainably, which means that environmental concerns have not been taken into account.

This can quickly pose an environmental problem and upset the balance in the world’s already polluted seas and waters.

However, there is a direct path to the principal source of omega 3 fatty acids.
Fish is not the only and neither the original source of omega 3 fatty acids. The source from which fish also get omega 3 fatty acids are plankton, crabs and algae.
Even animals do not produce omega 3 acids themselves, but get them from algae…

Due to all the advantages, we have decided to develop omega 3 capsules from the purest source - from algae.

Studies show that the content of omega 3 fatty acids in algae is similar to that in fish, which makes algae an excellent, pure and plant-based source of these vital fatty acids.
Microalgae are one of the oldest living organisms on Earth and nowadays even the nutritional profession recognizes their high nutritional value. It is real super food, which is also a great source of omega 3 fatty acids.

Since different algae do not contain the same values of omega 3, we have worked with the experts and looked for a type that ensures the adequate consumption of both types of fatty acids (namely ECOC and DHK) through oil obtained from it.

It is a species of algae Schizochytrium, which is a rich source of both types of omega 3.
These algae are from controlled production and do not contain heavy metals or other unwanted substances, making them a safe source of essential fatty acids.

Malinca Omega 3 capsules are:

  • 100% natural product
  • Vegan
  • Gluten-free
  • Lactose-free
  • Free of sugars, fillers and other additives

Malinca Omega 3 capsules are therefore a vegan alternative that provides our body with a daily amount of EPA and DHK fatty acids, thus supporting our health in the best way.

The plant source of omega 3 will delight all those who for various reasons do not eat fish (veganism, allergies, fear of heavy metals and toxins that fish can often contain).
Another important advantage is that the capsules do not cause fish burps, as is common in the consumption of fish capsules.

Also, heartburn is not caused by Malinca’s capsules, which is a frequent problem with fish supplements that have flooded the market in recent years.
So choose wisely - choose Omega 3 from Malinca.

Clean water, light, minerals and carbon dioxide - that's all we need to grow algae. This means that they can be grown and harvested without the risk of environmental pollution. Algae are therefore considered a valuable renewable source of omega 3.

In comparison, obtaining omega 3 fats from fish can cause much more damage to nature.
This is especially true in the case of illegal and unreported fishing, which is sadly still common. Such practices cause great harm to the world's seas and to make matters worse, the seas are increasingly polluted and contaminated with various toxins.

So it does matter what dietary supplement we choose…
Our choices not only affect our own health and the health of our family – they consequently affect the well-being of the environment and the entire planet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are these Omega 3 capsules different from the others?
Most often, products from various fish and crabs can be found on the market. This means the oil is of animal origin, yet without a traceable source of how and where these fish were caught. Fish, just like humans, need to consume omega 3 fats so they can contain them themselves. The fish ingest them through algae, but so can the humans! In this way, we get the original and pure source of omega 3. Also, algae are grown in a controlled environment, so they do not contain heavy metals or other unwanted substances.

How and when should I take them?
It is recommended to take one capsule a day with some water before any meal. As the effect is not immediate, we must take the capsules for at least 3 months to increase the omega 3 fats in the blood.

Who are the capsules suitable for?
We recommend Omega 3 to anyone who doesn't consume enough fish meat- practically everyone - as well as vegans and vegetarians, or whose needs are increased, such as athletes, generally active people, pregnant women, vegetarians, vegans and the elderly.

Can I take them in combination with other dietary supplements?
Omega 3 capsules can also be taken in combination with other dietary supplements such as Immunobiotics, Magnesium, Collagen UP, Vitamins, etc. If you are taking specific medications for any illness, consult your doctor about taking supplements. Special attention should also be paid to anyone taking anticoagulants, as omega 3 fatty acids can slightly thin the blood.

Why are these capsules better than fish oil?
Omega 3 from algae is a great alternative for anyone who does not eat fish or fish oil causes them any kind of problems. Algae oil is also a more environmentally friendly way of extracting essential fatty acids. The capsules don’t leave any aftertaste and do not cause heartburn or gas.

Can you overdose? What happens if you take too much omega 3?
High doses of omega 3 fatty acids can cause blood thinning in the long run, so the instructions should be followed and the capsules should be taken according to the prescribed daily recommendations, which is completely safe and beneficial.

Does the product contain gluten and lactose?
The product is completely vegan, free of gluten, lactose and sugars.

Is it suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers?
Omega 3 algae capsules are even highly recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers due to their increased need for essential fatty acids.

How long can I take Omega 3?
Given that we usually consume too little essential fatty acids with food and the deficiency is common, we recommend taking it regularly. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.

How much iodine do capsules contain?
The oil is obtained from cultivated algae. These microalgae Schizochytrium sp. are fermented in a special process and tested for iodine beforehand on representative batches of oils obtained from Schizochytrium sp. In all cases, iodine was found to be below the detection limit of 0.1 ppm.

Where are the algae grown?
Algae do not come directly from the sea, but are specially grown in a controlled environment. In cultivation, however, an independent fermentation process is used. Oil is then extracted from these algae.

From what age on can we take it?
Omega 3 capsules can be taken by adolescents from 14 years of age.

Can I open or bite the capsule if I can’t swallow it?
The capsule can be easily opened or split in half. The effect will be the same. However, it is more practical to swallow the whole capsule.
