Marigold: has moisturizing properties, making it ideal for formulations that nourish dry, irritated or sensitive skin. Marigold was used as a medicine by ancient herbalists, especially Arabs and Hindus, and is also known to our grandmothers. It has been used to treat skin ulcers, infected wounds, diaper rash, eczema, varicose veins, haemorrhoids, and so on.
Chamomile: It is one of the most ancient plants used for medicinal purposes. It contains turpentine and flavonoids, which have been proven to soothe the skin. Inflammation, ulcers, wounds, haemorrhoids, eczema – to name just a few of the problems that have traditionally been treated with chamomile, as evidenced by scientific articles, such as Chamomile: a healing herb of the past with a bright future.
Mallow: used in cosmetics due to the antioxidant and soothing properties of the plant. It is also supposed to act as an emollient, which means that it retains moisture in the skin and thus helps fight dry skin and irritations that could occur, and since it is also an astringent and helps protect the skin, it also works against inflammation.
Witch-hazel: used in skincare because it is supposed to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial effects. It is also said to narrow blood vessels, which soothes irritation and also promotes healing of damaged skin.
