If you are among those who count pasta with various delicious sauces as your vice, carb free noodles are a perfect solution. They are a tasty and healthy alternative to pasta made from cereal and will not affect your weight because of their composition. They are made from tubers of Amorphophallus konjac, an Asian plant.
The tuber is high in the glucomannan dietary fiber, which helps regulate normal blood cholesterol levels (daily intake: 4g) and lose weight - the beneficial effect is achieved by daily intake of 3g glucomannan in three doses of 1 each, taken with 1-2 glasses of water before meals.
Glucomannan is a water-soluble dietary fiber that is proven to suppress appetite, improve digestion and normalize blood cholesterol. It is a polysaccharide characterized by the advantage that it can hold a lot of water.
Studies of the plant have also been supported by the European Food Safety Authority
Based on evidence from various scientific studies, carb free noodles have become an integral part of diets low in carbohydrates. You can also enjoy them if you suffer from cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, candida or follow a low-carb or a gluten-free diet.

Where do Amorphophallus konjac and konjac pasta come from?
Amorphophallus konjac is a plant native to Asia. Its medicinal effects have been known in China and Japan for 2000 years, where pasta made from this plant is also a traditional dish.
Why are the noodles packed in water?
Carbohydrate-free pasta is mainly made up of water and beneficial fiber, so the most convenient way to store and package it is in the water.
Is it common for water to have a distinct scent when the package is opened?
Yes. This scent is quite common to all pasta made from the konjac plant anywhere in the world. The scent disappears completely when the pasta is rinsed with water.
What does the pasta taste like?
The pasta is flavorless. The key component are other ingredients and pasta sauces, as the pasta will absorb them well due to its transparent composition. Because they are very filling, you can combine them in the opposite ratio than you would with classic pasta, so more sauce or meat and vegetables and less pasta.
What is the texture of carb-free pasta like?
Although it is completely flavorless and the favor depends on the sauces and your favorite foods you combine the pasta with, the texture of the pasta takes some getting used to. However, after you’ve had konjac pasta once or twice, classic pasta will become a thing of the past. The texture is similar to rice or classic “al dente” pasta. The pasta can also be cut.
Using carb free noodles
Carb-free noodles are used just as regular noodles. They do not have a distinct flavor, so this is brought by adding vegetable or meat sauces. The packaging contains 1-2 portions.
- Drain the water from the bag.
- Rinse with cool water.
- Cook for 3 min in boiling water.
- Drain well and add to your favorite foods (vegetables, meat or sauces).
- A better texture for absorbing the aromas and flavors of the sauces can be achieved by frying the pasta in a hot saucepan with no oil for 1-2 minutes after cooking.
Storing: Store in a dark and dry place. After opening, refrigerate and use within 3 days. Do not freeze.
